Understanding Your Student Data Rights
At Summit College Preparatory School, we actively protect student data as both a legal duty and a core educational principle. We align our policies with global privacy standards and follow FERPA, GDPR, and academic best practices. As a result, students and families gain full transparency and control over their personal data.
Access to Educational Records
Students can review their official records at any time. These include grades, attendance logs, behavioral reports, and enrollment history. We typically respond to such requests within 30–45 calendar days.
Request for Correction
If you find any inaccuracies in your records, you may request corrections. Our review process ensures a timely response and upholds your right to data accuracy.
Consent Before Disclosure
We only share personal data with third parties when we receive explicit written consent from the student or legal guardian. Exceptions apply only when required by law or authorized school operations.
Portability and Transfer Rights
Upon request, Summit promptly provides a structured, machine-readable copy of your personal data. Therefore, you can easily transfer your information to another institution.
Right to Transparency
Each year, we clearly inform students and families about how we collect, store, and use data. We also highlight our ethical safeguards and digital security practices throughout the academic year.
Filing a Grievance
If you believe your rights have been violated, you can report the issue to our internal team or contact the U.S. Department of Education via the Student Privacy Policy Office (SPPO).

Global Frameworks and Best Practices
Summit actively draws from globally respected standards to build its policies. For example, we follow GDPR guidelines and align with U.S. FERPA regulations to ensure you receive strong, transparent protections.
