Student Experience Preview: A Day in the Life of a Global Scholar
Structure meets inspiration; fluency serves purpose; and, ultimately, students grow into global scholars in a learning experience that is both rigorous and empowering.
Day Structured for Global Readiness
A typical school day begins with immersive sessions in Mandarin, German, or French. Next, students transition into analytical writing, lab-based science, and historical inquiry designed to strengthen critical thinking. As the day progresses, this blend of language and academic content prepares learners for interdisciplinary success.
Multilingual Thinking as Method
At Summit, language fluency amplifies higher-order thinking. Communication occurs in English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, and German; moreover, translation tasks, comparative writing, and dynamic discussions provide powerful tools for academic and real-world success.
Additionally, most graduates meet or exceed CEFR C1/C2 or HSK 6 standards. These outcomes reflect scaffolded language development and a curriculum that embraces cultural fluency and global engagement.
Writing, Rhetoric, and Thought
At the start of each week, students write a timed essay and later revise it through peer feedback. They also analyze persuasive techniques and create multilingual publications; consequently, each learner builds the ability to adapt voice and tone for academic, civic, and global audiences.
Integrated Research & Real-World Projects
Through interdisciplinary projects, students examine complex themes such as renewable energy, international diplomacy, and global migration. In addition, assignments combine data analysis, ethical reasoning, and policy critique in realistic scenarios. By applying learning in real time, learners gain relevance, confidence, and intellectual agility across disciplines.
Academic Culture and Student Ownership
Every student follows an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) tailored to pace, strengths, and goals. To monitor this growth, faculty track progress weekly through rubrics and portfolios. As a result, mastery rather than seat time defines success within this environment.
Consequently, students grow with confidence and demonstrate measurable academic progress.
Live Teaching: No Asynchronous Gaps
At Summit, all instruction occurs in real time never pre-recorded. Students interact with faculty in structured blocks that promote clarity and connection; consequently, comprehension grows steadily during each session.
Moreover, all courses feature formative assessments, verbal check-ins, and lesson documentation to ensure verified mastery across subjects.
Classes, Scheduling & Communication
All classes meet live on Zoom Pro using secure links (not embedded on the website).
Scheduling. Students follow an individual monthly schedule with fixed days and times; changes are confirmed in writing.
Submissions. Assignments are submitted via Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive) using the school account.
Communication. In class and through Microsoft 365 comments; as a backup, brief coordination occurs via WhatsApp Business.
What students need. Laptop or desktop; reliable broadband; webcam and headset; school Microsoft 365 access (via ClassLink); digital writing tablet; graphing calculator; mobile phone for WhatsApp and as a backup Zoom device; printer or scanning app; and a secondary laptop/Chromebook as a backup device.
