High School · 1.0 Credit per Level · CEFR-Aligned

The Spanish Language Program at Summit College Prep helps high school students develop real-world fluency, cultural awareness, and multilingual confidence. Designed around CEFR standards, the curriculum supports success in college, communication, and global pathways.

Each course in the program integrates listening, reading, writing, and speaking with cultural content from Spain and Latin America. In addition, learners engage with music, film, literature, and authentic conversation. Moreover, the program prepares students for AP Spanish or internationally recognized certifications.

As a result, graduates build proficiency that supports academic study, career readiness, and leadership in international settings.

The Spanish Language Program introduces learners to global Spanish usage through progressive levels. Students build foundational skills and advance toward academic language mastery while exploring history, customs, and social norms across the Spanish-speaking world.

Spanish Course Progression

Start with Spanish 1: Foundations , where students learn basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and daily-use phrases.

Next, advance to Spanish 2: Language & Culture , which introduces grammar structures and cultural comparisons across Spanish-speaking regions.

In Spanish 3: Independent Expression , learners engage in academic writing, personal narratives, and guided conversation.

Finally, Spanish 4: Academic Language & Masterwork focuses on AP-style essays, advanced literary texts, and oral presentations aligned with university-level expectations.

Why Spanish Matters in Global Education

Spanish is spoken by over 500 million people worldwide. Consequently, language proficiency opens access to international universities, careers in diplomacy and business, and deeper cultural literacy. According to UNESCO, linguistic diversity is key to inclusive education.
