Official Transcripts: Content, Format, Standards

Content and layout. Transcripts list course titles by term, subject area, credit value, and final grade; they print the grading scale and the GPA method; they show Honors or Advanced designations; and they include a counselor verification line with date. Where applicable, external outcomes such as CEFR/HSK language certifications or approved college coursework appear with title, term, and scale.

Credit and instructional time. One Carnegie unit (1.0 credit) represents a full academic year with approximately 120 or more hours of combined direct instruction and guided academic work, depending on course level. A half credit (0.5) represents roughly 60 hours. Summit’s live-instruction model and assignment tracking ensure verifiable contact and mastery.

Course levels. College-Preparatory indicates university-entry rigor with documented outcomes. Honors moves faster and requires deeper analysis. Advanced denotes the highest level of rigor with sustained research or capstone work. Weighting for Honors and Advanced prints on the transcript legend.

Legend and policies. The transcript carries the grading scale, GPA calculation method, course level definitions, rank policy, and the time-zone standard (EST/EDT). We do not compute class rank due to small, selective cohorts; on request, we provide GPA distribution or percentile bands for context.

GPA & Grading Scale

Method. Summit reports both unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale and weighted GPA with level-based weights. Honors courses carry additional weight; Advanced courses carry up to a 1.0 increase, with a maximum printed GPA of 5.0.

Rank policy. Rank is not computed; upon request we supply GPA distribution or percentile bands. See additional context in the School Profile.

Delivery & Authenticity

Sealed PDF by email. We issue digitally signed PDFs that print registrar contact information and the verification line. Direct portal upload. When a university invites Upload, we submit directly to the official portal. Postal mail. Paper copies are sealed and mailed upon request when the institution requires hard copies.

Institutions may verify authenticity by writing to admin@summithighschool.org or calling +1 (727) 339-7339. We respond on institutional letterhead and confirm the document’s key fields.

Processing & Fees

Turnaround. Standard processing takes three to five business days. Rush service is one to two business days when capacity allows. We confirm the timeline in writing after we receive a complete request.

Costs. Routine electronic requests for current students carry no fee. Mailed copies and third-party paper deliveries may include a nominal handling charge to cover postage and materials.

Records Retention & Legal Notices

Retention. Transcripts and essential academic records are retained permanently. ILPs and advising summaries are retained for at least seven years after last attendance. Routine class recordings are typically retained for one instructional cycle unless tied to evaluation or compliance.

Electronic signatures. The registrar may issue digitally signed PDFs. We verify authenticity upon request and can re-issue a sealed copy to an institution directly.

Time standard. Calendars and deadlines observe U.S. Eastern Time (EST/EDT). Official school communications specify date, time, and time zone.

Policies. See the Student & Parent Handbook and Data Protection & Rights. State reference: Florida Department of Education.

Non-Discrimination & Accessibility

Summit admits students without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or religion. We provide reasonable accommodations consistent with applicable law and program requirements. Families may contact the registrar to begin an accommodation review or to submit supporting documentation.
