Governance & Legal Oversight

Governance & Legal Oversight

Summit College Preparatory School is a legally incorporated nonprofit private school operating under the laws of the State of Florida. Our institution is committed to high academic standards, full legal compliance, and transparency in all administrative functions. As our name reflects, Summit is designed to prepare students for success in college and university studies, both in the United States and internationally.

Summit is registered as a nonprofit corporation in Florida under EIN 35-2902478. Our IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status has been formally requested and is pending confirmation. The school is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, and operates online across international borders.

Academic Structure and Oversight

Our academic program is governed by a dual structure. An Academic Director is responsible for curriculum, instruction, academic outcomes, and policy enforcement. The director is supported by an Educational Advisory Board with expertise in curriculum design, international education, and college readiness. All academic and operational decisions are made through documented policies. There is no discretion in disciplinary, grading, or promotion matters. Every decision is traceable and consistent.

Summit operates under a formal policy framework for grading, student records, academic honesty, privacy, FERPA, and institutional compliance. These policies apply equally to students, families, and staff. Our commitment is to operate with full integrity, transparency, and equity.

College Board & Accreditation Path

Summit College Preparatory School submitted its official application for a College Board CEEB code, to ensure institutional identification within College Board systems and to support student participation in the AP®, SAT®, PSAT®, and other college readiness programs. Our goal is to ensure proper college advising, academic recognition, and transcript authentication through College Board systems. We are not yet an AP testing site, but our faculty is qualified to teach advanced and college-level material. We prioritize teacher expertise, curriculum depth, and preparation for university-level work.

Summit’s 4-year program begins with Grade 9 in August 2025. Our first cohort of students will follow a high school curriculum structured to meet or exceed college admissions expectations. Every student receives personalized advising and a roadmap to competitive university placement.

Compliance & Governance Mission

From the outset, our governance structure and academic framework have been designed to meet the standards of major accreditation bodies. All documentation, curriculum development, and compliance systems are built in alignment with Cognia accreditation standards. Summit will apply for Cognia accreditation upon completion of its third academic year, as required by policy.

Our legal structure, oversight processes, and educational commitments are not temporary solutions. They are designed to build long-term trust with families, regulatory agencies, and higher education institutions.

Commitment to Families, Educators, and Students

Summit is built on a foundation of legal accountability and academic excellence. Our teachers and advisors support students through every step of their academic journey, with full respect for institutional policy and parent-school cooperation. Summit’s mission is clear: prepare students for global college success through ethical leadership, academic mastery, and transparent governance.
