Chinese 2: Everyday Language builds on the foundations of Chinese 1 to further develop Mandarin proficiency through practical conversation and cultural context. Students strengthen their vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in everyday communication.
This course emphasizes real-life scenarios such as travel, shopping, dining, and school-related topics. Learners explore sentence structure, verb usage, and expanded grammatical forms. Activities include audio dialogues, short readings, and structured writing exercises that reinforce spontaneous and accurate language use.
By completing Chinese 2: Everyday Language, students will be able to hold extended conversations, read intermediate texts, and write paragraphs using appropriate tone and structure. The course deepens understanding of Chinese culture and lays a solid path toward Chinese 3 and AP Chinese Language and Culture.
