Academic Entry Requirements
Admissions are based on readiness
We accept only students ready to commit to structured long-term academic growth
Main Concept
Summit High School is not an open-enrollment platform. We do not accept students by grade or age alone. Instead we evaluate each applicant’s academic maturity subject mastery language profile and personal capacity for disciplined high-level study
Our curriculum is designed as a minimum three-year journey and entry is only available at Grade 9 as standard or Grade 10 by exception. We do not accept students for Grade 11 or Grade 12
Accepted Entry Levels
Grade 9 Entry
Most students begin at Summit in Grade 9. To qualify students must have completed Grade 8 or equivalent, begin high school with Algebra I or higher in mathematics, be fluent in English and actively learning two additional languages, demonstrate strong reading writing and reasoning skills, and be ready to work six days per week in a structured academic environment
We also assess maturity focus and long-term learning capacity, comfort with reading literature writing essays and participating in academic discussion, and willingness to follow a personalized college-preparatory learning plan
Grade 10 Entry
We may admit a limited number of highly qualified students directly into Grade 10 under the condition that the student has completed a Grade 9-level academic program with distinction, placement in Honors courses is appropriate and sustainable, the student is ready for full-time commitment including accelerated STEM or language pathways, and there is sufficient time to complete all graduation and exam requirements at Summit
Grade 10 applicants must undergo enhanced review and submit additional work samples and assessments. Acceptance is not guaranteed
Grade 11 and 12 Entry
Summit High School does not accept students into Grades 11 or 12. Our program is designed for academic and personal growth over multiple years. Late-stage entry does not allow sufficient time for AP exam planning, dual enrollment credit recognition, language portfolio development, mentorship and research, or alignment with the graduation track
Students seeking short-term enrollment exam-only preparation or final year placements should consider other academic options
Language Requirements
All students must be fluent in academic English at a C1 level or native equivalent, actively learning two additional world languages as part of their daily schedule, and able to demonstrate progress or fluency in multilingual reading writing and listening
Students may submit prior coursework self-study logs or informal samples as part of their application
Placement Upon Admission
After acceptance each student receives a full placement review including math and language level confirmation, transcript and portfolio review, ILP design and course track planning, and language and graduation track alignment. Placement is always based on performance not age
Final Word
Summit High School is not an entry point. It is a path. We invite only those ready to walk it early with commitment and with purpose
