Academic Programs and Diploma Pathways for Academic Success
Summit College Preparatory School offers three structured Academic Programs and Diploma pathways to meet the academic needs and university goals of all students. Each track spans Grades 9 to 12 and satisfies U.S. graduation standards with varying levels of academic rigor.
Standard High School Diploma
Total Credits Required: 22
Minimum GPA: 2.0
Honors Courses: Optional
Advanced Project: Optional
This track meets all core graduation requirements and prepares students for general college admissions or career pathways. It includes English 9–12, Algebra I & II, Environmental Science, World History, two years of World Languages, and electives in business, digital media, or physical education.
Honors Diploma Program
Total Credits Required: 24
Minimum GPA: 3.5
Honors Courses Required: 5 or more
Advanced Project: Strongly recommended
Designed for academically motivated students pursuing competitive university pathways. Honors courses include additional depth, project-based learning, and GPA weighting. Courses include English 9 Honors, Geometry Honors, Chemistry Honors, and World History Honors.
College Preparatory Diploma Program
Total Credits Required: 26
Minimum GPA: 3.5
Honors Courses Required: 5 or more
Advanced Project: Required
This program is designed for students aiming for admission to selective universities in the U.S. or abroad. It encompasses advanced coursework and academic excellence, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills essential for higher education.
Typical Coursework Includes:
Advanced English, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, U.S. History, U.S. Government, Spanish, and French.
Students are encouraged to complete an in-depth research project or independent study. This demonstrates academic inquiry and readiness for university-level work.
Summit Scholar of Distinction
The Summit Scholar of Distinction is the highest academic honor conferred by Summit College Preparatory School. This title is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, multilingual proficiency, and civic engagement—placing them among the top 1% of graduates.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 4.0 or higher
- Complete 10+ advanced-level courses in English, math, science, and social studies
- Achieve proficiency in at least three world languages via coursework or official exams
- Complete a research thesis or independent academic project
- Contribute 100+ hours of community service
- Participate in extracurriculars and hold leadership roles
Recognition: Recipients are honored at graduation, receive a diploma seal, and are featured in official publications.
